Here is a fine example of the benifits of ancient technologies vs the modern. Nothing built today will last 600 yrs! Everything we design today is built to be disposable. Just look at Americas inner cities and the skeletons of buildings that were once very elegant and worthy structures. When I build my house, I want it built to last at least this long.
